A man in Nairobi has pleaded guilty to killing his brother during a fight over a glass of water.
Collins Obenda Gavalwa appeared in a Nairobi court last week and claimed he had accidentally killed his brother Frankline Mulweye Gavalwa on October 11, 2016 in the Lunga Lunga slums.
Gavalwa, however, pleaded guilty to and requested the court's leniency.

Collins told the court that on the fateful day, he arrived home to the house he shared with his brother and another man named Kadege, who had retired for the night.
Frankline, who was having dinner, invited him to join in. When Collins took a glass of water on the table to wash his hands with, Frankline reportedly objected strongly and a fight ensued.
Collins said he ended up stabbing his brother, after which he fled the scene. He boarded a bus to Vihiga but later handed himself over to the police.
His lawyer, Wokabi Mathenge, asked the court to impose a non-custodial sentence because Collins did not intend to commit the crime
He said: "The accused sincerely and profusely regrets his actions. He has reformed and promised never to engage in crime."
Sentencing is set for June 14.
