Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce has resigned from his position at the club claiming "no ambition to take another job" in football.
The 62-year-old met with the club owner Steve Parish on Tuesday night, May 23, to inform him of his intention.
Recall that the manager in December 2016 put pen on paper for a two-and-a-half-year contract with Palace barely three months, after leaving as England manager.
He managed to keep Crystal palace in the Premier League as he moved them from 17th to 14th.
"In some ways, this has been a very difficult decision to make but in others it has been a simple one," Allardyce said in a statement released by his representative.

"I will always be grateful to Crystal Palace and Steve Parish for giving me the opportunity to go out with my head held high having helped keep the club in the Premier League.
"More than that, they gave me a chance of rebuilding my reputation after what happened with England.
"I felt I needed another shot at being a Premier League manager and showing that I still had the ability to achieve something significant.
"As I said last weekend, Palace gave me the chance of rehabilitation.
It was earlier reported that Sunderland confirmed the resignation of manager David Moyes a day after playing their final Premier League game of the season.
The club have announced the former Real Soceidad manager's departure after the Scot informed Black Cats owner Ellis Short of his intention to leave the post at a meeting in London on Monday, May 22.
Sunderland who finished bottom of the table ended their season with a 5-1 thrashing at champions Chelsea are now relegated to the championship.
