Little ballet dancer with no legs makes the performance of a lifetime

This Chinese legless girl is a ballet dancer!

Believe it or not, she asked her mother for lessons

She is now a dance star

Jiang Zhang Ziyi has no legs. She lost them both in a car accident when she was six years old. Yet her dream of becoming a ballet dancer did not die with with this complicated situation.

Two years after the amputation of her legs, she told her mother that she wanted to learn how to dance. “I want to learn ballet! Don't worry mother, you can be my legs,” she said.

Brave girl

Jiang had seen that the county council was organising a talent show –and she wanted in!

Her mom decided to support her daughter’s wishes, and enrolled her in lessons. She was eight at the time, and took up ballet classes.

Jiang practiced every day, and won the competition! After that, she started to become a celebrity, inspiring many people in her country.

Now, at 12, Jiang has become a star dancer! Her dramatic circumstances have not diminished her will to live up to her goals in life.

She suffered the accident in 2010 when she was walking home from school, and a person driving an SUV went out of control. Her mother recounted how she cried day and night, but that her strong daughter never shed a tear. “Mother, a day will pass whether you cry or laugh. Why don't we treat it as a good day?” she told her mom back then.

After winning the show in 2013, Jiang went on to be an invited guest at the Hunan TV talent program “Amazing Dance”. Her mother was in effect “her legs”, holding her up and swirling her around the stage.

Since then, she has kept going to class and developing her dance skills. Jiang is now in sixth grade, and at her young age she strives to be independent and not have self-pity, inspiring millions with her demeanor. “Throughout the years, people have wanted to donate money to us, but we have turned them down," her parents commented.

This girl’s life story is certainly a great inspiration!
