Uncovered: The Mystery Behind Chelsea’s Loss To Manchester United At Old Trafford

Chelsea were thoroughly beaten by Manchester United at the Old Trafford last Sunday, due to a mystery ailment that hit key players in the squad, according to reliable reports.

The Blues fell to a dismal 2-0 defeat to the Red Devils last Sunday much to the dismay of Antonio Conte who would have thought his side will continue their fairy tale run in the Premier League.

The Sun have now claimed that the table-toppers were hit by a virus days before their clash with United, and missed training sessions but only tried to shrug off the illness to clash with the fully-prepared Manchester United side.

Brilliant Marcos Alonso limped off during warm-up in the game due to the illness, having failed to shake off the illness and was replaced Kurt Zouma who moved to the centre-back while Cesar Azplicueta moved to the left-wing back position.

The report also claim that Belgian star Eden Hazard who performed below par during the game, was also affected by the virus. Meanwhile Victor Moses was also said to have played on despite suffering from the unknown illness and had to be replaced in the early minutes of the second-half of the game as Diego Costa was also said to have played the whole game with the illness.

The loss to Manchester United leaves Chelsea just four points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur, who have shown they can topple the Blues if they suffer any slip-ups in the league run-in.
