Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea could move to the Santiago Bernabeu next summer for a reported fee of around £60million, according to reports.
The Spaniard has been heavily linked with a move away from the Old Trafford, with Real being is preferred destination and recent reports in the last weeks suggests that De Gea wants to move to Madrid.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is understood to be keen on signing De Gea this summer, after failing to sign him in 2015 due to a ‘fax machine’ controversy.
Reports in The Sun claim that Real Madrid are ready to break the bank to lure the shot-stopper to the Santiago Bernabeu next summer, and set astonishing world-record bid for a goalkeeper, eclipsing Gianluigi Bufffon’s £32m move to Juventus.
A Madrid source said: “De Gea is the top priority. We expect him to come this summer.”
Although Jose Mourinho is reluctant to let the 26-year-old keeper leave the Old Trafford, the United boss had recently insisted that De Gea should be focused on playing for Manchester United and shun interest from Real Madrid.
David De Gea has been a key figure for the Red Devils since he joined them in 2011, making a name for himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the World.
