Sister of world's heaviest woman claims doctors lied about her weight loss

It has emerged that Eman Ab El Aty’s situation has worsened following her surgery

Her sister, Shaimaa Selim claims the surgery has left her sister mute and immobile

Selim also claims the doctors at Saifee hospital lied about Ab El Aty's weight loss

The doctors have, however, denied the allegations. Who is telling the truth?

Sources recently reported that Eman Ab El Aty, world’s heaviest woman according to Guinness Book of World Records, had undergone a major weight loss surgery in Mumbai, India.

The medics at Saifee hospital (in Mumbai) reported that El Aty had lost half of her body weight, which originally totaled to about 500kg. And now, the woman’s sister claims the doctors lied about her sibling’s state of health following the delicate operation.

Shaiman Selim claims the medics at Saifee hospital lied about how much weight her sister had lost after the surgery. She also sensationally claims that the doctors left her sister in a much worse condition than they found her, as she can no longer talk or move.

Abd El Aty had not left her home for two decades until she arrived in India on February 11 for weight-loss surgery.
“May God forgive them for what they have done,” she says.

According to Selim, her sister Ab El Aty is still very sick, as opposed to what the doctors said. The doctors, she asserts, were only interested in showing off and spreading propaganda and did not necessarily care about her sister’s health.

“Since she is not able to talk, she is connected to this feeding tube. She doesn't talk at all. Also, she is not able to move and she looks bluish. No improvement. My problem is that the hospital is not equipped for such a case. These people care about show and propaganda only, and to appear on mass media. They do not care about the patient,” the seemingly bitter Selim laments.

The medics at Saifee hospital have, however, come out to defend themselves by denying Selim’s wild allegations.

“Shaimaa Selim, you killed humanity with one swell blow. May only God help you when you realise what you have done. I will continue to treat and pray for Eman,” says Dr Muffazal Lakdawala, who reportedly led the operation.

It is not yet clear whether or not Selim or the hospital will take any action regarding the allegations.
