A mother in Pretoria, South Africa was relieved after police found her five-month-old daughter who had been kidnapped three days earlier.

32-year-old Thandi Baloyi's daughter Nhluto Baloyi went missing on Wednesday, April 19, prompting a frantic search that ended on Saturday, April 22.

Police were able to trace Nhuto's captor, who was her nanny, via a phone she had also stolen from Thandi's house. They arrested her and will arraign her in court.

Speaking to local news reporters, Thandi said she had hired the baby's nanny, who had told her that her name was "More Blessings," just the day before she took baby Nhluto away.

She added that she became suspicious after a neighbor informed her that the nanny had tried to solicit a security exit code from their residential complex when Thandi was away.

Thandi also said she believed the nanny, who is reportedly from Zimbabwe, had taken baby Nhluto to prove to her boyfriend that she had been pregnant and had given birth.

She expressed relief at finding her baby unharmed: “At least now I can sleep. I was very strong because of the support I got every day but when I had to sleep I was very stressed because that’s when reality set in.”
