Suspected Kidnappers, Cultists Arrested In Bayelsa


The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested 31 suspected kidnappers, cultists and armed robbers following raids of criminal hideouts in the state.

Arms, ammunition and stolen items including nine locally-made pistols were recovered from the hoodlums after three weeks operation.

The Commissioner of Police, Amba Asuquo while addressing journalists revealed that these raids became necessary following the high level of crime and criminality in the State.

The alleged criminals upon interrogation confessed to the crime.

Among the 31 suspects, 29 are suspected cultist and armed robbers while the remaining two are alleged kidnappers.

Nine locally made pistol was also recovered from the suspects.
