The Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan Ali, has said that the Federal Government will employ the use of technology to tackle the menace of illegal migration, trans-border crimes as well as terrorism.
He added that the Federal Government has begun a pilot understudy of the region’s border and has therefore called for an effective operational collaboration among members.
The minister made this known during the Heads of ECOWAS Immigration, hosted by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) currently holding in the nation’s capital, Abuja.

The aim of the meeting is to review the irregularities in the system as well as improve data sharing.
The ECOWAS heads of Immigration which was inaugurated in 2015 is meant to bring together officials of the immigration service by comparing experiences and solving issues of interest.
