The faction of the Boko Haram belonging to Abu Shekau has reportedly claimed responsibility for the recent sneak attack on Maiduguri, Borno state.
In a video posted by Saharareporters on Saturday, June 10, the terrorists showed how they attacked the city.
They displaying uniforms, shoes, identity cards, arms and ammunition the group claimed their fighters seized from the military during the attack.

They also said they were ready to continue to fight on as they were not prepared for any dialogue with the federal government led by President Muhammadu Buhari.
To show their determination, Shekau mentioned Somalia, Afghanistan, and Syria where Islamist groups have waged wars for a long time.
He also rebuked those who have been claiming that the war they are fighting with the Nigerian state Lake Chad was over.
He vowed that the children and grandchildren of the terrorists would continue from where thy would stop.

On Friday, June 9, Amnesty International said it showed a deplorable disregard for human life. Osai Ojigho, director of Amnesty International Nigeria had this to say: “Boko Haram must end its campaign of vicious and unlawful killings of civilians.
"These deplorable attacks took place at a time when Muslims were breaking their fast during the holy month of Ramadan and demonstrate complete disregard for human life."
