Embattled ex-governor’s daughter and US trained investigative journalist, Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo after seeking for financial support to get out of jail is at it again as she accused the court registrar of stalling her release from jail.
NAIJ.com gathered that Kemi Olunloyo accused the chief registrar of the Port Harcourt Division of the Federal High Court of sitting on her case in order to keep her continually keep her in prison, despite having allegedly met her bail conditions.
Reacting to this accusation is the deputy chief registrar Maimunat Folami, who revealed that all Kemi Olunloyo said earlier is false. She said: “We have done everything that we’re supposed to do. This allegation is very strange. I have to do all the works of ensuring that all the documents are put in place.”

Folami further disclosed that even if all her papers have been submitted by her lawyers, they still have to go through all paper work carefully.
She said: “I have to do all the works of ensuring that all the documents are put in place. Even if the documents are put in place, we still have to conduct certain investigations, like verifying the addresses of the sureties to be sure they are who they say they are.”
However, Folami added that ever since Kemi Olunloyo appeared in court on Tuesday, May 23, her case file is yet to be returned to the chief registrar’s office which is obviously causing further delay in processing her release
However, her lawyer Fatai Lawal representing Afe Babalola Chambers did not confirm what his client said earlier but disclosed that they are confident she would be released this week.
It could be recalled that Kemi Olunloyo was first arrested in Ibadan on March 13 before she was transferred to Port Harcourt, where she was arraigned arraigned before a chief magistrate court and later transferred to the Federal High Court.
