NAIJ.com gathered that police have launched a manhunt for the killer of a Nigerian pastor who was shot to death in his apartment in Indianapolis, US.
According to reports, a Nigerian pastor identified as Oluwadayomisi Epenusi, was recently murdered in Indianapolis, USA.
The late Epenusi, had recently relocated to the United States of America from Nigeria where he had been a pastor.
The 66-year-old was reportedly shot at his apartment complex near 10th street and 1-465, at the west side of Indianapolis, by a yet-to-be-identified killer.
Pastor Epenusi was murdered in the US
The police are said to have launched a manhunt to trace and finally catch the shooter who murdered the deceased.
Meanwhile, some of late Epenusi's neighbours assisted the police with investigations, as they have narrated their own version of what may have transpired on the Saturday morning he was murdered.
One of the neighbours identified as Kristina Teague, said she called 911 after hearing gunshots:
“I heard about 15 gunshots. It was nuts.”
She also said Epenusi's roommate had driven him to Eskenazi hospital after he ran into the apartment bleeding from his gunshot wounds.
Another witness, Moshood Kafaru, who had just relocated to the US from Nigeria, said:
“The roommate said when he was on the way he asked him what happened and why he got shot, but the man couldn’t say nothing because he was still in pain. He was just a nice person who would go to work and come home and go to church. He didn’t talk to nobody. He never bothered nobody.”
Kafaru however believes the deceased may have been shot during an attempt to rob him. He said:
“He was holding a purse. He refused to let it go. They thought he had money in the purse, but he didn’t want to let it go.”
The apartment complex where Epenusi lived prior to his death, is said to house a lot of Nigerians. They claimed he was a hardworking person and felt bad that he died the way he did. They said:
“They just got a visa. That why he was working, so his family can come over here.”
“He was just an innocent man and it just upsets me that he’s gone just like that. It’s really sad because he was here sending money to his family.”
Anyone with useful information has been asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
RIP to him!
