Omg: See the Shocking Moment Crime Suspect Bit Into Police Dog's Ear as He Tried to Escape (Video)

The man bit a police dog

A suspect has been filmed trying to take a bite out of a police dog’s ear while being arrested following a police chase in Manchester, Metro UK reports.

The German Shepherd called Theo was deployed after the man, who has since been charged with an unrelated public order offence, refused to surrender to police in Hyde in June.

The mobile phone footage shows the man trying to bite the dog while repeatedly kicking him as an officer tries to pin him down to make an arrest.

Another man who is stood nearby appears to be willing the suspect on by yelling ‘bite his ear off’.

Although the footage was captured earlier this summer, it has only just been released.

PC Gareth Greaves, who attended the incident, explained Theo was left with a wound to his head, while he cut a lip and broke his hand.

He said: ‘It was a seven-minute incident. It was quite horrendous, I was kicked to the floor, had my lip bust. It was not nice.

‘He wasn’t giving up at all. He was a pretty determined individual. He put up quite a bit of resistance.

‘We didn’t finish until midday that day. My wife is a specialist operations officer.

‘She helped patch Theo up. He had a nice warm bath and we cleaned up his head wound from the bite.’

It is not the first time six-=year-old Theo has been in the wars. During a previous incident, he was set on fire while helping to catch robbers in Chorlton.

PC Greaves added: ‘I went straight back to work and so did Theo, it is what they want to do, they want to work.

‘Theo has been set on fire detaining a man, he has been assaulted, there have never been any charges brought against the man for this.

‘He gets injured, he suffers and couldn’t lie down for four days. To members of the public he is a police dog, but to us he is family.

‘A lot of people don’t realise the police dogs come home with us.’
