Ghanaian footballer arrested in Italy for allegedly killing his mother and sister (photos, video)



A young Ghanaian footballer has been arrested for the murder of his mother and sister

 Italian authorities apprehended him while trying to make his escape via train in Milan

The incident occurred in a neighborhood in the outskirts of Parma

A Ghanaian youth and footballer by the name of Solomon Nyantekyi has been detained by Italian authorities on suspicion of murdering his mother and sister.

Initial reports have it that the incident occurred on Tuesday evening, July 11, in the neighbourhood of Via San Leonardo, in the fringes of the City of Parma.

Nyantekyi was reported to have allegedly killed his 45-year-old mother Patience Nfum and 11-year-old sister Magdalene Nyantekyi.

Ghanasoccernet.com states that 21-year-old Nyantekyi was apprehended by Italian authorities in Milan while attempting to escape via railway. According to Italian authorities, the suspect confessed to the crimes.

The suspects older brother, Raymond Nyantekyi (aged 25), allegedly came home late in the evening from work to find a bloody crime scene in their 5th floor home. He disclosed that the scene he came home to was one of blood everywhere, on the floor, furniture, and on the wall.

Nyantekyi was a rising star in Italian football's youth system, having won several titles to his name already. A football prodigy, he was later promoted to the club's senior side prior to it coming under administration, at which point the young player's career in football took a turn for the worse.

He played for Serie D side Imolese Calcio but reportedly stopped suddenly and allegedly began hanging out with "bad company".
