Police nab wanted cult leader, robbery kigpin ‘Arsenal,’ gang members


A wanted suspected notorious armed robber and leader of a cult group popularly known as ‘Arsenal’ has been arrested.

He was nabbed along with seven members of his gang in Lagos.

The arrest followed an operation led by the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, in Ejigbo, CSP Chikezie Okezie.

The raid lasted for several hours at a black spot in Oboye Street.

The robbery kingpin was said to have gone to the notorious area for reprisal attack on a rival cult group.

Police got hint of his movement, reinforced and stormed the location.

Eyewitnesses told PM Express that there was exchange of gun fire between the police and the gang until the police overpowered them.

Arms recovered include 2 pump action rifles, 6 locally made short guns, 6 axes, charms and other dangerous weapons.

The arrest of Aresenal ended his manhunt and reign which lasted for several years.

The suspects have been handed over to the State Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS for further interrogation.
