Nigeria drops 2 spots in latest FIFA rankings


Eagles now ranked 6th best team in Africa behind, Egypt, Senegal, Cameroon

Super Eagles lost 2 - 0 in Uyo to South Africa in AFCON 2019 Qualifier on June 10

The team drop to 40th position in latest rankings

The Super Eagles have dropped to 40th position in the latest FIFA ranking released Thursday, July 4, 2017.

The Eagles were ranked 38th in the world for the month of June having moved up from their 40th position for the month of May.

The team defeated Togo 3 - 0 on June 1 in an international friendly and lost 2 - 0 to South Africa on June 10 in an AFCON 2019 qualifier played in Uyo.

The Eagles now ranked the sixth best team in Africa with Egypt, Senegal Congo, Cameroon and Burkina Faso occupying the top five positions.

Germany climb to top spot in the world having won the FIFA Condeferations Cup. Chile are ranked 7th while Brazil drop to second.
