Woman believed to be world's oldest person celebrates her 131st birthday (photos)



Over the years there have been misconceptions about who the world’s oldest person is but no one has been able to come up with the correct age.

Over the weekend, a Chinese woman who claims to be the oldest person living on earth celebrated her 131st birthday and her children and grandchildren were reportedly present to celebrate with her.

According to China News Service who identified the woman as Alimiha Seiti was born on June 25, 1886 and has about 56 descendants.

Seiti was reported to be living in Shule County, the Kashgar region of China’s western Xinjiang Uyghur autonomous region. They revealed that the woman enjoys talking to visitors and loves singing anytime she is a good mood.

In 2003, the Gerontological Society of China and a London body identified as, Carrying World Records declared Seti as the country’s oldest person.
