The Real Madrid star opened the scoring in Portugal's 4-0 win over New Zealand

Host Russia crashed out of the competition after losing 2-1 to Mexico in their final group game

Cristiano Ronaldo sends Portugal to the semi-final of the 2017 FIFA Confederations cup after helping his country defeat New Zealand 4-0 in both team's final group game on June 24, 2017.

Ronaldo opened the scoring as he netted a penalty in the 33th minute while Manchester City's new signing Bernando Silva scored in the 38th minute to extend the victory for the Selecção.

Luis Nani and AC Milan's new boy Andre Silva scored late in the game to seal the victory for Portugal and ensure they finished top on the Group A table.

Aleksandr Samedov opened the scoring for the Russians in the 25th minute but goals from Nestor Araujo and Hirving Lozan dented the Russian's hope of advancing into the semifinals of the competition.
