The culprits admitted that they were indeed trafficking, revealing that they had buried 1kg of heroin at a place called Chowkiman and another packet was hidden near a platform in Mullanpur.

The Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Ludhiana, Virinder Singh Hayer, confirmed the recovery, he said:

"Police have recovered the heroin from the two places. The accused covered their illegal acts by presenting themselves as businessmen dealing in spare parts of vehicles. A car has also been recovered from them."

Austin and Edeh said they got the drugs from a 'mastermind' who supplies them from across the border.

The DIG says a case has been opened under the NDPS Act, while they are trying to track the 'masterminds'.
