This is the rapturous moment a South African community celebrates its graduates the traditional way.
It is said in Africa that it takes a village to raise children.
It follows then that the community was there in song and dance when its children graduated from Walter Sisulu University in Mthatha in the Eastern Cape.
Community turns up to welcome its graduates
In the video, members of the community rush to welcome the graduates with warm hugs.
They are heard singing in joy and the happiness is infectious. The graduates also join in the song.
The joy of graduating
The video was shared on the Facebook page of Because We Can, a US-based initiative that celebrates black excellence. It has now gone viral.
Commenters said they were moved by the sheer joy evident in the community. Jessica Coleman said: "The culture! Mannnnn African cultures will show you that we are all doing it wrong. Birth, birthdays, weddings, home goings....they CELEBRATE LIFE! I am soooo here for it!"
