Oscar, Ivanovic to receive Premier League medals, Mikel will miss out


John Mikel Obi will not receive a Premier League medal if Chelsea win the title this season

The Blues need a win at West Brom on Friday, May 12, to secure the title with two games left

Mikel failed to appear in the EPL for Chelsea before his move in January to TIanjin TEDA

Oscar and Branislac Ivanovic will however be rewarded with medal if Chelsea win the EPL

Former Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi will miss out on a Premier League title medal if Chelsea win the 2-16/2017 Premier League.

However the likes of Oscar and Branislav Ivanovic will receive a medal each despite leaving the club in the January transfer window.

This means the likes of Asmir Begovic, Nathan Ake, Ola Aina, Dominic Solanke, Kenedy and Charly Musonda will not receive medals.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek will however receive a medal having made five appearances off the bench this season.

Chelsea will be the Premier League champions if they beat West Brom at the Hawthorns on Friday night, May 12.

Chelsea will receive 40 winners’ medals from the Premier League to share out among the players and staff should they win.


John Terry will be hoping to in his third Premier League medal
League rules however dictate that players are only guaranteed a medal if they play a minimum of five matches.

This means Mikel Obi will miss out on a medal but Oscar who made 9 appearances before departing for Chinese Super League team Shanghai SIPG, and Ivanović who appeared 13 times before joining Zenit Saint Petersburg will receive medals.
