Barcelona board pick Luis Enrique's replacement




Barcelona have chosen the replacement for outgoing coach Luis Enrique

The Austrian has announced will leave the club at the end of the season

Assistant Juan Carlos Unzue, Ronald Koeman are front runners for the job

Barcelona's vice-president Jordi Mestre has given a huge update on the club chosen replacement for out-going coach Luis Enrique.


Luis Enrique will leave at the end of the season
Enrique announced last month that he would step down as coach of Barcelona citing the need to recharge his batteries.

Many candidiates have been put forward as his potential replacement including assistant Juan Carlos Unzue has also been talked up as a potential No 1 by Barca players.

Ernesto Valverde of Atletic Bilbao, Laurent Blanc and Ronald Koeman of Everton have also been linked to the job.


Ronald Koeman is another possible replacement
Mestre however said: “We have already chosen his replacement but we won’t communicate our decision right now out of respect for Luis Enrique.”

Enrique, a treble winner with the Catalans could end his reign at the club with a third title in as many years.


The Catalans who are into the Copa Del Rey finals have two games left to play in La Liga and sit ahead of Real Madrid on goal difference who have a game in hand.
