Arsenal on Monday, April 17, 2017 gave their fans some hope of finishing among the top four teams at the end of the season after beating Middlesbrough 2-1 in a Premier League match played at the Riverside Stadium.
The Gunners knew before the game that a victory against relegation threatened Middlesbrough will be of great help for them, and fought hard to record an incredible win.

NAIJ.com can report that Chilean international Alexis Sanchez opened scoring for the Gunners in the 42nd minute after Adam Clayton committed a rough foul on Granit Xhaka which made the referee to give Arsenal a free-kick.
Sanchez then sent many Arsenal fans to cloud nine with his fantastic goal which put the Gunners ahead.
But the hosts fought back in the 50th minute through Alvaro Negredo after Stewart Downing had wonderfully set him up in which Arsenal goalie Petr Cech had no answer for.
German international Mesut Ozil was the hero as his goal in the 71st minute gave the Gunners a deserved win.
