The lover who had promised to marry her ended the relationship abruptly

A 31-year-old police constable identified as Peace Agbemafo has ended her life after her lover jilted her. The police officer was said to have been promised marriage by the lover who ended the relationship.

Reports gathered that it was the second time the pretty police officer would be suffering from heartbreak. Garu-Tempane district police commander, Alexander Tieku, confirmed the incident.

“This is about the second time she has been jilted by someone. Somebody promised to marry her but later disappointed her and she killed herself. We have informed the family and we are waiting for them to come so we conduct the post mortem and convey the body to the police hospital mortuary in Accra for preservation”, Tieku said.

Tieku also revealed that the deceased police officer had been working in the area for four years; her colleagues are yet to get over the news of her death.

Agbemefo was meant to be on duty at the GN Bank in Garu on Monday, April 24; instead, she was booked at the police station and around 6:30am, she killed herself using an AK47 assault rifle.

Haruna Abdul Fataw, the manager of the bank she was meant to be at, said he was forced to call the district commander to request for a police when Agbemefo refused to show up.

The body of the late officer was found by a young girl who happened to be a beneficiary of the deceased officer. According to the girl, Agbemefo was drowning in the pool of her own blood in her room which is a few metres away from the Garu Tempane police station.

Agbemefo shot herself in the throat. A knife was also found on the floor while a noose was hanging from the ceiling.Pretty police officer ends her life after lover who promised her marriage jilted her
