Ahead of preparations for the busy AFCON and World Cup qualifying schedules, coach of Super Eagles Gernot Rohr has disclosed that talks are ongoing to engage the German national team in a friendly.
The Germans are four time world cup winners and are also the defending champions having won the last edition in Brazil 2014.
According to Rohr, quite a number of matches have been lined up for the national team to intensify the side ahead of crucial fixtures.

“We have made contact with top executives in the German FA about a friendly, so we could play them,” Rohr said in an interview on Brila FM.
He also hinted that the forthcoming friendly games will be played in France.
A member of the German FA also stated that there had been contacts but he expects more details soon.
“There has been contact with Nigeria over a friendly game but that is all I know about the proposed tie,” he explained, adding," maybe in the coming days more will be revealed .”
Recall that Nigeria missed two previous editions of the Africa Cup of Nations despite winning it in 2013.
They begin their quest to qualify for the 2019 edition of the tournament against South Africa on June 10 at the Godswill Akpabio International stadium in Uyo.
Also, in the World Cup qualifying series, the Super Eagles who currently lead AFCON qualifying Group B with six points having defeated Zambia and Algeria in their first two games face Cameroon on August 28, with the return leg four days later.
