‘’The fact that the celebration of the 53 years of the Air Force coincided with the Easter celebration shows that the Nigerian Air Force has experienced a resurrection,’’ Group Captain Kwaso said.

‘’Where we were yesterday, we would never be today and forever more,’’ he added.

The duo in their various speeches commended the officers and men of the NAF for their achievements and specifically praised the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar for his focus on religious affairs in the NAF.

Speaking to journalists after the service, Air Vice Marshal SL Alao said: ‘’We have to look back and reflect and thank God for where we are today, and in doing so one of the things the CAS has advised us to do is to rededicate ourselves to the service of our country.

‘’We are in trying times with various internal security challenges, but we continue to rededicate ourselves to ensure that we are able to fulfil our roles and enhance our capabilities in the fulfilment of our constitutional obligations.

‘’And in doing so, we continue to pledge our unalloyed loyalty to the president and the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, President Muhammadu Buhari, all elected officials and all Nigerians in constituted authority. We shall continue to wax stronger.’’
