The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the registration for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) by two weeks.

The Punch reports that JAMB announced the extension on Saturday, April 8.

He disclosed also that the Mock Examination is now on hold indefinitely while a new date will be communicated to candidates.

It was gathered that candidates who registered for the 2017 computer-based UTME were supposed to take their mock tests today, April 8.

Prof Is-haq Oloyede had made the announcement about the exams at a meeting with ‘internal stakeholders’ in Abuja on Thursday, April 6 but today things changed.

Oloyede said the mock exams which had been expected to take place nationwide were meant to prepare candidates for the real exams.

Only candidates that paid for the mock test were eligible to sit, he said.
