It started as a small growth but doctors misdiagnosed it as harmless

Doctors now say he has incurable cancer

A 4-year-old boy in Karachi, Pakistan has a tumor the size of a watermelon growing from his ear and doctors say it is now incurable cancer.

Kamran Ali Channa's tumor started as a small growth that doctors dismissed as harmless
Young Kamran Ali Channa complained of a small growth and pain on his right ear around September 2016 but doctors misdiagnosed it as harmless.

However, when the lump grew bigger and more painful, his poverty-stricken family desperately took him to various doctors and specialists, all of whom could not help young Kamran.

Kamran's condition has now been diagnosed as incurable cancer
Kamran's father, 33-year-old Imtiaz Channa, who works as a taxi driver, said: "I have already taken loans from many different people for his treatment. I'm not even sure I'll ever be able to repay the money but my only focus is my child suffering from this life-threatening disease. I'll do anything to save him."

Dr Jamal Raza, a doctor at a major hospital in Karachi, said that Kamran has rhabdomyosarcoma cancer that has now spread to different organs in his body, adding: "It's a late referral case. It has already spread to his lungs and his spine which are not easy to treat. The cancer is now at stage four and currently he's on weekly chemotherapy."

Kamran's father, Imtiaz Channa, is appealing for help

Dr Reza added that Kamran's condition was initially curable had it been diagnosed correctly at an early stage. However, it is now too late because even if the facial tumor is removed, the internal tumors will remain.

His father is appealing for help: "I wish there was someone who could help us in some way. I hope people remember my child in their prayers. I just want to see my child live."
