BREAKING: Violence to rock Osogbo today - Osun government raises alarm as students storms government house


Osun state government has issued mayhem alert in the state

The government believes that some criminals are planning to hide under students' protest and perpetuate violence

Reports reaching NAIJ.com is that violence will rock the Osun state capital, Osogbo on Thursday May 25, 2017.

This according the state government is as a result of the expected actions of some criminals who have hijacked protests of students of the Ladoke Akintola University of Science and Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso.

The Osun state government issued a warning to members of the public, parents and guardians especially of the students of LAUTECH.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com also gathered that students of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso have continued their protest against the state government concerning the funding and payment of salaries in the institution.

The student are said to have marched to the State Secretariat to continue their protest where security personnel prevented them from blocking the entrance the government house.

According to reports, an alert sent from the government house, read: “Intelligence reports indicate that after the protests embarked upon by a few students of the institution in Osogbo on Wednesday, the criminally minded persons have concluded arrangements to capitalize on that in order to create some confusion with a view to unleashing mayhem on the people.

“Therefore, the government has resolved to ensure that no one is allowed to breach the peace of the state in whatever forms.

NAIJ.com reports that enraged students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo state, on Monday morning, May 15, prevented 2017 JAMB candidates from entering the premises of the institution to write their exams.

The students barricaded all the entrances thereby, preventing any movement in and outside of the campus and in the process also denying all staff of the institution, both teaching and non-teaching were denied entry.
