NAIJ.com recently visited the the ancient city of Sagamu, Ogun state, Nigeria to meet family members of Anthony Oluwafemi Joshua, the new boxing World Heavyweight Champion.
According to boxer's uncle Benjamin Ademola Joshua, sport runs in the family as many have tried playing football in their youth.

He however noted that the Joshuas are known to be "academics" in Sagamu, where the family house is located.
The world heavyweight father's uncle, Oye Joshua is a retired principal, Anthony's grandmother was a matron with Mayflower school in Ikenne while his father is also an academic.

The boxer's great-grandfather is a professor who retired from the University of Ibadan and former a goalkeeper at Ijebu-Ode grammer school.
Reports gathered that Anthony's father Jonathan comes to Nigeria at least six times in a year, but the boxer himself has not been able to do so since becoming an Olympic champion in 2012.

Anthony's mother is Yeta Odusanya, a Nigerian while his father Anthony Joshua has a Nigerian father and Irish mother.
