Argentina football legend Diego Maradona was surprisingly not invited to the wedding of Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi but the soccer icon holds no grudge against him.
On Friday, June 30, 2017, Lionel Messi finally tied the knot with his long term girlfriend Antonella Roccuzzo and the ceremony was attended by many football legends.
As far as football in concerned in South America, Maradona is a god, but he has taken the decision of Lionel Messi not to have invited him to his wedding in good fate.
Some pundits would expect the 56-year-old to be posting bitter messages on social media, but Maradona chose the other way round by congratulating Lionel Messi.
''I congratulate Lionel Messi because he know how much I love him, and I wish him well in his marital journey.
''My invitation to the wedding was lost somewhere, but my attitude towards Messi will not change because of this. He is a good athlete and an excellent guy.” Maradona who coached Messi at the 2010 FIFA World Cup explained.
Meanwhile, Maradona was not the only Lionel Messi's former gaffer that was not invited to the wedding as former Barcelona coaches Pep Guardiola and Enrique were also left out.
