Reports reaching NAIJ.com say former Newcastle midfielder Cheick Tiote has died aged 30 after collapsing in training with his club Beijing Enterprises.
The Ivory Coast star's agent Emanuele Palladino confirmed the tragic incident as he expressed deep shock.
"It is with deep sadness that I confirm that my client Cheick Tiote sadly passed away earlier today after collapsing in training with his club Beijing Enterprises,” said Emanuele Palladino.

Tiote begun his professional career in Belgium with Anderlecht which included a loan spell with Roda JC.
After leaving Belgium, he joined FC Twente in the Netherlands making 86 appearances for the Dutch side.
He moved to the Premier League to join Newcastle in 2010 and made over 150 appearances for the Toon before leaving for China at the start of the 2016-17 campaign.
Reports claim the 30-year-old's wife was expecting a child this week;
