Mother who expected stillbirth receives MIRACLE twins (photos)

A mother-to-be was told her babies would probably be stillborn

But at 24 weeks she managed to have “miracle” twins

After five months at the hospital, they will soon be able to go home

Katy Lambert was told by doctors that most probably the twins she was expecting would not survive, and be stillborn. They even advised an abortion. But she was relentless and decided to hold on.

Six days after the abortion limit the doctors had given her, Jackson and Harley were born, against all odds. They were 24 weeks and six days, and weighing barely a few pounds.

Every premature babies always face a harsh battle for survival. They normally spend at least three months on the neonatal unit.

These twins have been five months at the neonatal intensive care unit.
It is also very expensive and that is when a premature and sick baby charity called Bliss stepped in to help Katy and her twins.

“It is vital that parents [of premature babies] are receiving psychological and financial support to help them cope while their baby is in hospital, and after they come home. Bliss has plenty of resources and information on our website to help parents who may find themselves in the same position Katy,” the NGO’s chief executive, Caroline Lee-Davey, said.

The babies were born very tiny and weighing almost nothing.

Katy’s newborns were so tiny her labour only took one minute. They have already undergone 19 blood transfusion and several surgeries. Now, after five months, she will soon be able to take Jackson and Harley back home to Northampton , UK.

“It has not been an easy road but I am so proud of how far the twins have come… It has been a living hell watching them hooked up to ventilators and feeding tubes and going through all their surgeries and blood transfusions,” this brave mother has commented. She proudly adds that they have fought “every step of the way.”
