Wicked midwife steals woman's newborn, swaps with a dead baby

NAIJ.com gathered that a midwife was caught after successfully switching a newborn baby with a dead one at an undisclosed hospital in Ifo, Ogun state.

What extra care is a new mother expected to take after birthing her baby to avoid losing the child to schemers like the lady below?

According to a post shared on social media by an Instagram user identified as @abolorelore_sexymama_beautybar, a midwife stole her family friend's newborn baby and swapped the child with a dead one.

The midwife is being suspected of taking the baby for ritual purposes, as she had a room full of money of different currencies and denominations.

The midwife confessed that the newborn baby she stole was actually alive and well

Sharing the story on Instagram, she wrote:

"My family friend delivered her baby around 5pm and the mother-in-law was asked to go home to get clothes. When she returned with her son, the doctor/midwife had left the hospital immediately after her delivery as informed them by the two nurses on ground.

The nurses wouldn't account for the whereabout of the newly born. The husband alerted the community chairman and elders with the youth and they went to Ifo police, visited the place of delivery and only found the placenta and only one of the rooms was locked.

The midwife was spoken with around 10pm after several calls and she admitted the baby was fine and alive. The search team left the place around 11.30pm after waiting for the midwife who didn't show up.

The next morning 28th, they went back to the police station, that was when i was contacted. Then the woman was around there. We all went back to the hospital and in one of the rooms already searched, a dead baby was found which she claimed had been in the building all through 27th of May.

She said the baby was dead at birth. The locked room was opened and money of different denominations were found, she also has the building construction going on behind the clinic. The elders within her community claimed she came back to the clinic by 1am and showed them the dead baby. The DCO Ifo said while he and his team searched the clinic, no baby was found. The dead body has been taken to the mortuary for autopsy, the wicked must not go unpunished."
