A newborn baby is pictured holding a contraceptive coil in his hand
The coil was meant to stop his mother from getting pregnant
The picture has gone viral online
If there ever was a triumphant baby picture, this one has to be it.
A newborn baby boy was pictured holding a contraceptive coil firmly in his first ever fist, which appeared poised in triumph.
Baby Dexter Tyler was triumphant alright—he was holding the same contraceptive coil fitted in his mother to prevent her from getting pregnant.

It was as if he was declaring, "Hey look! I made it!" His was indeed a rare case of only 1 in 1,000 pregnancies occurring despite a contraceptive coil being fitted in the mother.
His mother, Lucy Hellein, gave birth to little Dexter on April 27 via C-section. A doctor found the contraceptive coil lodged at the back of her placenta, took it out and cheekily placed it in Dexter's hand

In an interview, Hellein said: "Dexter was definitely meant to be. His original due date was May 4th and even the doctor said ‘the force was strong with this one.’ Although he wasn’t planned, my family and I feel incredibly blessed."
On the day of Dexter's birth, she shared the picture on Facebook and it immediately went viral, triggering over 56,000 shares. Here are some reactions on Twitter.
