Reactions trail Buhari's latest medical trip to London


President Muhammadu Buhari left the shores of Nigeria on Sunday night, May 7 for yet another medical trip

The presidency annouced that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will be Acting President as usual

The duration of this medical trip is yet to be announced as the president awaits his doctors counsel

President Buhari departed Nigeria on Sunday night, May 7 to continue his medical trip in the United Kingdom.

This is the third medical trip the president is embarking on since he assumed office in May 2015.

The last time the president travelled for a similar trip earlier in the year, he spent 51 days which generated debates among Nigerians as to his capability to function effectively in office.

Expectedly, the president's latest medical trip to London has kick-started another rounds of debates among Nigerians, with many urging the president to quit because of his failing health.

Staunch supporters of the president are however backing him with prayers, insisting that his sickness is just due to his old age.

Sources has been observing some comments on the issue since the president's announcement.

Meanwhile, President Buhari met with Osinbajo, Senate President Bukola Saraki and the Speaker House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara before he embarked on his trip.

"I have absolute confidence that government will continue to function smoothly and normally while I'm away. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria," the president was quoted as saying during the meeting.
