Britain's shortest politician is only one meter tall. James Lusted, 29, is the Conservatives' newest councilman for the Welsh, after getting elected on Friday.
He hopes to become an example for little people from his political seat, and work for every one he is now representing. “I will ensure that I listen to the residents, not just the younger or the older generation, but every generation from whatever background - everyone will have a voice,” he said.
Lusted married his fiancee Chloe last November, where he famously got onto a stepladder in order to reach her at the ceremony.
His rare genetic condition is called Diastrophic Dysplasia. Although his parents have a regular size, they transmitted the condition to both him and his older brother.
Lusted will be county councillor in his hometown of Rhos on Sea in Conwy, North Wales. James regularly performs pantomimes of Snow White during Christmas holidays.

His wife Chloe is actually a tall woman, with 1.70 meters. She works as a trainee teacher, and says the difference in height with respect to her husband has never bothered her.
They want to start a family soon, and are not worried if their baby is born with Lusted’s same genetic condition. “I'm not even prepared to take the test to see if I have the gene because I think that at the end of the day it won't change my mind about having kids either way. We would love it the same as any other baby that we would have,” Chloe commented.
