Check out how much weight the former fattest woman in the world has lost

The former fattest woman in the world has shed more than 700 pounds after surgery

She did not leave her house in 25 years

With further interventions, she is now hoping to be able to stand and walk again

The woman who until recently was the world’s fattest female, has “lost” her position after a life-changing operation she underwent in Mumbai, India last March.

Eman Ahmed, from Egypt, lost around 715 pounds. Back in January, her weight was about 1,155 pounds. She had not left her house in 25 years, and could not walk.

Despite her great advances, Ahmed, 37, still need to go through additional treatment. “Her bone structure is poor,” Dr. Muffazal Lakdawala, the surgeon who operated on her, wrote on his blog. He added that “so many years of disuse” have compounded deformed her hips and knees, which now need to be straightened

Ahmed will receive additional treatment in Abu Dhabi. There was some criticism on behalf of her sister, Shaimaa, who claimed she was not receiving proper treatment.

Doctors at the Mumbai clinic responded by saying these remarks may have been due to the Egyptian family’s wish to extend Ahmed’s stay there.

“It took almost a month for me to form a team of doctors, chalk out a detailed plan for her treatment and then we decided to get her here. Every treatment plan, method was debated with great detail,” Lakdawala argued.

Now, at Dubai’s Burjeel Hospital, Ahmed hopes to be able to stand and walk soon.
