The Nigeria international’s fine form in his Scottish second division debut has earned him a prestigious prize
Hibernian defender Efe Ambrose has been crowned Scottish Championship Player of the Month for March.
The 28-year-old joined Neil Lennon’s side on a 93-day emergency loan from Celtic after work permit issues had stopped him from joining Blackburn Rovers.
Having made a losing debut in the 2-0 defeat to St Mirren, the Ambrose delivered three man-of-the-match performances against Dundee United, Dumbarton and Falkirk.
Against Falkirk, he opened his account for the Hibees in the 2-1 victory at Easter Road Stadium, celebrating with his trademark somersault.
Hibernian host Queen of South in Saturday’s encounter. They lead the log with 61 points from 32 games – nine points ahead of closest challenger Falkirk.
